Taylors favorite artists - an example to use Prezi for arts and cultural heritage education
I want to show you an example how to use Prezi for arts and cultural heritage education. Prezi can be used in lectures or workshops to create interesting presentations of students favorite artists. Below, you see Taylors favorite artists presentation.
A variation: Students make a presentation about ONE favorite artist including text, pictures, video, and sound.

What is Prezi?
"Prezi is a web-based presentation application and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides. Text, images, videos and other presentation objects are placed on the infinite canvas and grouped together in frames. The canvas allows users to create non-linear presentations, where users can zoom in and out of a visual map. A path through different objects and frames can be defined, representing the order of the information to be presented. The presentation can be developed in a browser window, then downloaded so that an Internet connection is not needed when showing the presentation." [Wikipedia]
How to use Prezi and create a presentation?
Prezi is an easy to use tool. Go to www.prezi.com and create your account. Click on sing up, and get the Public free account. Fill out the information needed to sing up (name, email-adress and password).
After log in you can create your first Prezi. A short introduction video shows how it works.
Prezi offers several materials at the website, how to use it. You can find there the following information.

Glogster - gestalte dein eigenes Poster
Wollen Sie zu einem bestimmten Thema oder über eine bestimmte Person ein online Poster erstellen. Dann bietet Glogster eine Alternative. Mit diesem Online-Tool können Poster individuell gestaltet und verwaltet werden. Die Möglichkeiten, die Glogster dafür bietet sind sehr vielfältig. Neben dem Einfügen von Texten und Bildern können auch Videos, Animationen oder Sounds eingebettet werden.

Das Erstellen von Glogs ist auch eine geeignete Methode, sich kreativ und multimedial mit künstlerischen und kulturellen Themen zu beschäftigen. Beispielsweise können SchülerInnen oder Jugendliche Glogs zu Künstlern wie Pablo Picasso oder Vincent van Gogh erstellen. Wie so etwas ausschauen könnte, zeigt das hier präsentierte Beispiel. Es wäre auch interessant eine bestimmte Stilrichtung als Thema vorzugeben, wodurch die persönliche Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Thema durch die individuelle Gestaltung visualisiert wird.
